GOVERNANCE, PRIVACY & LICENSING

Editorial, Licensing, Privacy & Disclaimer Policy

Clear separation of licences across encyclopedic content, software source code, and research monographs, alongside our privacy/cookie governance and engineering liability disclaimer.

1. Three-Tier Licensing & Attribution Framework

  • Encyclopedia (SatWiki), Technical Notes & Open Datasets: Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). You may share and adapt with attribution to nadir lab..
  • Research Monographs (/research/*): Licensed under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0. These full-length review and analytical monographs are published exclusively on nadir lab. and may not be modified or used commercially without written permission.
  • Physics Engine & Platform Source Code: Licensed under the MIT Licence.
  • Third-Party Telemetry & Catalog Attribution: Mission frequency and beacon records derived from the Libre Space Foundation SatNOGS DB are attributed under CC BY-SA 4.0; orbital elements are sourced from Space-Track / CelesTrak and operator filings.

2. Corrections, Mission Updates & Versioning

Orbital status, TLE catalog identifications, and transmitter statuses are audited periodically against SatNOGS DB, Space-Track, IARU coordination filings, and operator telemetry. Each SatWiki document, technical note, and research monograph carries an explicit identifier and revision number (REV 0.1). Errata and mission updates may be submitted to hi@nadirlab.space.

3. Privacy, Cookies & External Services

  • Data Controller & Institutional Contact: nadir lab. (https://nadirlab.space · hi@nadirlab.space).
  • Essential Cookies: The platform sets NEXT_LOCALE (first-party cookie) and nl_consent (localStorage) solely to remember your selected interface language (EN, TR, ES, DE) and cookie consent choice.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics 4 — G-ENZDSK78XL): We use Google Consent Mode v2 with IP anonymisation enabled and analytics_storage denied by default until you explicitly click 'Accept Analytics' in the cookie banner. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time via the 'Cookie Preferences' button in the footer.
  • On-Demand External API Calls: All engineering calculators run 100% locally in your browser. Only when you explicitly click 'Sync CelesTrak' inside the Live Orbit Tracker (/lab/tracker) does your browser query celestrak.org directly for live GP orbital elements.

4. Engineering, CAD & Regulatory Disclaimer

All physics solvers, orbital lifetime estimates, link budgets, thermal models, and downloadable mechanical/ECAD files (.STEP, .DXF, .kicad_pcb) on nadir lab. are provided 'AS IS' without warranty of any kind for preliminary engineering, academic research, and educational reference only. They do not constitute flight-qualified hardware designs or legal compliance certification. Spacecraft developers must independently verify all dimensions, materials, outgassing margins, and RF parameters against their Launch Service Provider Interface Control Document (ICD), ECSS/NASA qualification standards, and national ITU/IARU spectrum licences prior to manufacture or launch.
